Sam Musselman joined the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship as an Innovation Funding Manager in May 2024. He supports Pitt’s commercialization partnership with UPMC Enterprises and the Chancellor’s Gap Fund, working closely with Pitt investigators and administrators to drive the success of these programs and the translation of Pitt research.
Prior to OIE, Sam was the Associate Director for Corporate Engagement at Pitt’s Katz Graduate School of Business where he managed recruiter and alumni relationships within their Career Management team. He also spent time at Pitt’s Career Center as an internship associate supporting undergraduate students with their pursuit of internship and experiential learning opportunities. Sam’s professional journey began as a research associate at UPMC’s Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic where he conducted research on reward and emotion neural circuitry in adolescents. Outside of Pitt, Sam coached soccer at Serra Catholic High School for 8 years.
Sam has a BS in psychology with a minor in neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh and received his MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business.
