Peter graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS in Chemistry. In his early career He put this to great effect in designing colorimetric gas detectors for NASA and NRL, as well as the semiconductor, automotive, agricultural, and polyurethane markets. He then transitioned into long product rolling mill applications, process automation, and telemedicine before returning to the gas detection and safety markets. He has well over 30 years of experience in new product development (NPD) and is well versed in a myriad of associated industries, product development theories, and processes.
For over ten 10 years, Peter was the Global Director of Intellectual Property for MSA, in this capacity he introduced a successful break with traditional IP thinking and created a new, from the ground up, methodology to support a fully modern business forward approach to IP strategy and tactics. In addition to creating processes, and policies to support this function, he continued to participate in NPD efforts with MSA and lecturing on Intellectual Property to marketing and engineering personnel in North and South America, Europe, and Asia.
Peter has also given talks regarding IP strategy and tactics to outside counsel and IP practitioners at INTA Boston, IPBC Denmark, and is a guest lecturer for fellows attending the Commercializing New Technologies Program at Katz Business School.
