Jon Fura PhD

Jon Fura serves as a Director of Industry Partnerships as part of the Industry and Economic Partnerships Team.  In the pursuit of developing new technologies for the life sciences industry, Jon is responsible for identifying, establishing, and maintaining collaborations between the University’s professors and industry partners.  Prior to joining Pitt in the summer of 2023, Jon worked in the life sciences industry for seven years where he managed both the Protein Sciences and Gene Therapy Research and Development programs at Avantor.  During this time, Jon led teams in developing, manufacturing, and commercializing technologies that can be utilized in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Jon received his PhD in Chemistry from Lehigh University and his BS in both Chemistry and Biochemistry from DeSales University.
