The Pitt Innovation Challenge, now in its ninth year, is designed to provide funding for innovative solution to problems in healthcare. Sponsored by the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, the 2021 award recipients were recently announced. The winners of the top three $100,000 awards included a team developing an activity box to promote good dental hygiene for children, a simplified endotracheal tube that prevents ventilator-associated pneumonia and a program that provides African American parents with tools to promote positive racial socialization, mental health, and academic achievement for their adolescents.
