Featured Patent: 11,458,532 “Glycine Receptor Modulators and Methods of Use”
Approximately 25 percent of patients who receive prescription opioids for pain struggle with addiction. Pitt innovators led by Yan Xu, Professor of Anesthesiology, have identified a compound that reduces the effects of inflammatory pain and boosted the efficacy of a sub-therapeutic dose of morphine that could be used to reduce the necessary dose of opioids for pain management.
