University of Pittsburgh Announces 11 Patents Issued to Pitt Innovators in January 2025

Posted on February 4, 2025 by Mike Yeomans

Pitt innovators were issued 11 U.S. patents in January 2025.

Featured patent: 12,186,371: Biomarkers and Treatment Methods for Traumatic Brain Injury-Associated Impairments

Pitt innovators exploring the role of inflammation and autoimmune responses in traumatic brain injury have discovered that there is potential for immunotherapy treatments that support immune responses and promote neural repair. Recombinant humanized IL-7 (rhIL-7) shows promise as a treatment to enhance lymphoproliferation and adaptive immunity, potentially improving recovery and reducing complications when combined with TNFR1 inhibitors.
