University of Pittsburgh Announces 14 Patents Issued to Pitt Innovators in April 2025

Pitt innovators were issued 14 U.S. patents in April 2025.

Featured patent: 12,285,235: Touch Probe Passively Powered Wireless Stent Antenna for Implanted Sensor Powering and Interrogation

Pitt innovators have developed and prototyped “smart” stents capable of wirelessly reporting the degree of restenosis, or re-narrowing of an artery, alerting the patient to the need for a hospital visit before damage due to heart attack, blood clot, or aneurysm can occur.
